Liverpool can take a giant step towards qualification for Champions League if they can get the better of Southampton on Sunday, 07 May 2017 at Anfield. Both of these teams have meet three times already and Southampton won twice and drew 0-0 in premier league. Jurgen Klopp’s men can not afford to drop any more points with both Manchester Clubs breathing down their neck for top 3 finish. Southampton vs Liverpool Preview: Jurgen Klopp’s side has only won 1 game since the turn of the year and that was 1-0 win over Plymouth. Other than that they have failed to win on 5 different occasions and coming into this game on the back of that shattering home defeat against Swansea which pretty much ended their title chances for atleast another year.

Southampton were so good in first leg that they felt disappointed by only winning 1-0, Nathan Redmond was at the heart of the action throughout 90 minutes and grabbed the only goal of the game.

Southampton can’t buy a win at the moment and Liverpool can not do any wrong if we look at the last 5 games of both teams. Liverpool are slowly getting their full strength squad back fit with Sturridge and Henderson nearing full fitness.

But Southampton came roaring back in second half with goals from Sadio Mane and Pelle completed a 3-2 turnaround leaving Liverpool shell-shocked.

Liverpool took the lead through Coutinho in first half and doubled it minutes later through Sturridge, they had number of chances to add more goals in first half. But Southampton turned things around in second half completely dominated Liverpool.

Sadio Mane started second half with a missed penalty but he made up fro it when scored Southampton first in 64th minute to setup a grand stand finish. Grazioano Pelle scored superb left footer in 84th minute followed Mane’s winner in 85th minute.
